Outrule Subarachnoid Haemorrhage Discharge Advice
- You have been investigated on the Clinical Decision Unit of the Cork University Hospital.
- There have been no signs of complications and you are now ready to return home.
- We suggest that you should rest quietly and should avoid alcohol for 48 hours.
- It is better if a responsible adult can remain with you for the next 24 hours.
Please return to the Emergency Department immediately if you:
- Vomit more than twice.
- Become dizzy or develop a severe or persistent headache not relieved by normal painkillers (eg paracetamol).
- Become restless or drowsy.
- Have a convulsion or fit or twitching of face, arms, legs etc.
- Develop weakness anywhere in the body.
- Have double vision or blurred vision
Common symptoms (these may persist for some days)
- Mild headache.
- Tiredness.
- Poor concentration.
- Mild memory loss.
A letter will be sent to your GP regarding your investigations and care on the unit.
